Aspen, Colorado. January 28, 2016 – The ESPN Winter X-Games always brings a ton of excitement with its world wide spotlight and change of pace from the ISOC National series. John Stenberg and Elias Ishoel, who earned his first invite last weekend, both had a great showing at the annual event.
Qualifying started out strong, when Ishoel jumped out to the hole-shot and maintained a solid second place finish, qualifying him directly into the final. In the final, Ishoel was the only Pro Lite rider lining up against the worlds best from the Pro Open class. Starts in snocross are crucial and during the final Ishoel got off to another great one but made a couple of small mistakes, eventually shuffling him back to 6th where he finished the night. Overall it was a great night for Ishoel making his first appearance on a Pro Open machine.
John Stenberg also had a solid qualifying round, finishing fifth, and moving him into the final as well. When the green flag dropped on the final, Stenberg was caught in the middle on all the action coming out of the first turn, but kept his head down and charged to a solid fifth place finish at the checkers. While falling short of the podium goals the team set, the finishes represent great results and launch the riders into the second half of the ISOC season with higher expectations.
Next up the team heads to Seneca, New York for rounds 8 & 9 of the ISOC series Febuary 4th-5th at Seneca Allegany Casino.
